About Classic Rock Drum Charts

Classic Rock Drum Charts has been around since 2007 with the intention of providing high-quality drum sheet music to aid drummers and drum teachers. Our drum sheet music collection is the result of the 40-plus year teaching and writing career of drummer James Morton. What began as resources for his students grew into a column in Modern Drummer, then a mail-order catalogue, and eventually this digital library to more easily make the charts available to other drummers.

James Morton – James has been a gigging drummer since his teenage years in the 60s, when he was also part of the Houston-area band The Dream Machine that got signed to Decca Records and opened up for The Who and Paul Revere & the Raiders. He’s taught music in San Diego for many years, written a dozen books for Mel Bay Publications, and also taught a popular History of Rock Music class at Grossmont College for over 25 years. Read more about James here.

Kevin Morton – James’ son, Kevin, built the first version of this website in high school at his father’s suggestion. It was his first website. Today, he owns the web design company K&J Web Productions with his wife Jordan. He built the existing updated website for Classic Rock Drum Charts in 2016.
