Lead singer Rob Halford wrote “Living After Midnight” when, appropriately, he could not sleep. Guitarist Glen Tipton was working on a riff, which woke Halford up. He looked at his watch, noticed the time, and went to work on the song. The British band’s hit, from the album British Steel, was released in 1980. Dave Holland drums.
