The Cascades were a San Diego group, who by the late ’50s had developed a reputation for their professional. smooth sound at the dances and clubs in which they performed. Unfortunately, they were destined to have but one hit in their career (“Rhythm Of The Rain” went to #3 in 1963). The fermata at the beginning of this piece is there for the thunderstorm sound effects that begin the record. The drummer? The legendary Hal Blaine.
