“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” was the Rolling Stones’ first number one hit. Keith Richards basically wrote this around a riff he came across while experimenting with a fuzz box, a guitar effect that was new in 1965. Charlie Watts lays down a minimal beat all the way through, complementing Bill Wyman’s bass guitar. The Rolling Stones were originally blues enthusiasts, and took their name from a Muddy Waters’ song.
